Reflection
Cyber Bullying
Before reading this passage I didn't really know the effects of cyber bullying because I was never effected by it. What I did know was that bullying in general is bad and nobody should be bullied. While reading this passage I learned that cyber bullying is the same as bullying someone face to face except that cyber bullying is done through the internet. Kids and adults of all ages are now using the internet as a way to bully someone else without having to wait till they see them. Cyber bullying can happen at any time and any place which makes it hard to avoid. Megan Meier a 13 year old student hanged herself because of cyber bullying. After reading this passage I still want to know about what the federal and state governments are doing to prevent cyber bullying from happening. I also want to know what are schools doing to prevent it because cyber bullying spreads fast and especially through internet. Cyber bullying is something that shouldn't be taken lightly and I feel that everyone should do their part in trying to stop cyber bullying all together because bullies are everywhere and it only takes a push of a button to start post something bad about another person.

Is Bottled Water Safer Than Tap Water?
Reflection
Before reading this mastery reading I didn't really understand why was it asking if bottled water is safer than tap water, and now i know the dangers that are in both tap and bottled water. Like I learned that bottled water either comes from surface water or ground water and in a way neither are that much safe to drink. I also learned how the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) uses chlorine to purify the water so that people can't get sick from it. This reading helped me understand that you can't judge a book by it's cover and that if you want to know more about what is going into your body that it's always good to research.

Reflection
Before reading this chapter I didn't know much about technostress and the effects that it has on people all over the world. Like how trying to do 2 things, like walking and texting at the same time can cause deaths, injuries, and send people to the hospital. I want to know more about how to avoid the dangers of technostress and multi-tasking. I learned that many people text while doing things that they should be paying attention to like driving, walking, working, classwork, and homework. I also learned that "more than 250 cities and several states ahve passed laws or are considering legislation that would either prohibit or restrict the use of cell phones by drivers." I still want to know how the government plans on enforcing the new laws that they have created to stop people from texting and driving or doing more important things.

Reflection
Before reading chapter 5 I already knew about the foundations of previewing any text. I knew the simple things like using prior-knowledge to figure out what type of information the text will have. Also how to use the title, the organization, any visual aid, and looking at the back cover of the text to be able to understand what is going to be in the text. I want to learn more about using these skills to be able to actively answer question and to be able to write about the subject without having to read the whole text. I learned that using guide questions help focus on what we need to learn and remember. Also that highlighting the answer to your guide question help for further studying at a later time.

Before reading this selection I didn't know about power foot devices and how the founder is Hugh Herr. I want to learn more about the impact that these devices have on the lives of disabled people. I learned that Hugh Herr has been able to help make the lives of disabled people much more easier with these devices allowing them to do things that they couldn't do before.I still want to learn about how they were able to use biomechatronics to be able to come up with the power foot devices for disabled people. I also want to learn about the way that they tested the devices on peopl and the effects that the testes have on the progression of the development of the device.

Stop Asking Me My Major
Before reading this chapter I didn't really know how changing your major could really impact you later in life. This chapter has taught me that it is very important to pick a major that you know for sure will interest you because it doesn't always benefit you to change. I want to learn more about what to do if you get stuck between majors and how to explain to your parents that it's what you want to be and not what they want you to be. I also learned that it's very common for students to change majors during their freshman year of college because of their parent's advice. I still want to learn more about the effects of college majors on parents.
